Yes. All our Face Painters hold indemnity insurance coverage for £5,000,000 for Face Painting and Glitter Tattoos and we are happy to provide a copy upon request.
Do you have a disclosure or CRB certificate?
A self-employed face painter cannot apply for a disclosure certificate. It is intended for a third-party/employer to assess an employees suitability for a job. Some of our face painters do have a certificate due to their alternative employment but generally face painters are unlikely to be left alone with children. Typically, we are with a child for less than 5 minutes and usually in the presence of their parent or carer.
Can you paint for free for charity?
The expenses involved in professional face painting might surprise you. The products, insurance, travel, training courses, practice costs and cleaning costs are substantial. For that reason, we are not able to paint for free at any event. However, we would be delighted to discuss how we can help raise money for your charity or fundraising events. Visit our large events & fundraisers page for more information.
Is the paint safe for children?
It is not recommended to paint children under 3 years old. Some young children can be nervous about having their faces touched (especially around the eye area), or sometimes can be too wriggly to sit through a painting. However, we can offer them an arm or hand painting. Many younger kids prefer this, as they can see their design afterwards.
Are Face Paints suitable for sensitive skin?
We only use good quality professional products which are specially formulated to be friendly to the most delicate skin, they are non-toxic and fragrance-free. All our face paints are EU approved and include antibacterial properties. The glitters we use are specifically for cosmetic use.
However, If a child has sensitive skin or any skin conditions that may be aggravated by cosmetics we do not recommend they be painted. If you have any concerns we can try a small test area on the inside of the arm.
Although it is extremely rare, we cannot be held responsible for any allergic reaction if the parent/guardian has given their permission.
You can view the list of face paints we regularly use, and their ingredients here
How many faces can you paint?
We can paint an average of 10 -15 faces per hour depending upon the complexity of the designs chosen. We can normally paint around 10-12 full face designs per hour or up to 15 half faces per hour.
05 – 10 children could have 1 hour face painting and glitter tattoos
10 – 12 children could have 1 hour of full face, face painting, with an optional second hour of glitter tattoos.
12 – 15 children could have 1 hour of half faces with an optional second hour of Glitter Tattoos
15 – 30 children would require 2 hours for face painting. If you wanted Glitter tattoos, we could offer the choice of a glitter tattoo or a face paint to each child, but not both. If you wanted all children to have both a face paint and a glitter tattoo, a second artist would be required.
35 – 50 children, we would recommend 2 artists for 2 hours to comfortably fit all the children in.
How do I remove face paint?
We recommend face paints be removed after 2 – 3 hours, ideally in a bath or shower with a facecloth and soap or baby shampoo (no more tears). Using lotions or baby wipes may react with some ingredients in the paints and make them harder to remove or may cause discomfort. There is no set time limit for wearing face paints but we don’t recommend children wear any face paint to bed. It can get messy!
If you do get face paint on clothing or bed sheets, please wash as the label describes.
We do try to test all of our paints for easy removal and avoid using any brands that stain. We don’t want our clothes stained either!
How clean is the equipment?
Brushes are washed using specially formulated brush soap and sponges are washed in a washing machine at 40 degrees using non-bio washing powder. This is done following the end of each painting session. All equipment is dried thoroughly stored safely and replaced regularly.

We will respond to your enquiry form within 24hours with information regarding cost, availability and a link to pay the deposit. If you do not wish to book, we will delete your details after 7 days to comply with GDPR.
There are certain times of the year when we are very busy, therefor we are unable hold or reserve dates, so please book early to avoid any disappointment.
What is the best time to book?
You can book up to a year in advance. We are sometimes booked quite far in advance, especially for seasonal holidays, bank holiday weekends and larger organised events. But we find it’s normally about a month or two before, for private birthday parties.
Our busiest times are weekends between 12pm and 4pm. These times book up first. However morning times 10 am – 12pm and later afternoon 4pm – 6pm are more likely to be available if it’s a particularly busy weekend or if your event date is only a few weeks away.
What if I have to cancel?
If you do have to cancel, for any reason, please inform us as soon as possible by calling 07590 567 899 as there may be delays using email/Facebook correspondence. It also allows us to offer that time slot to another enquiry.
Please keep us informed of any changes and if you have changed your mind, that’s ok too.
If you have paid a booking fee or balance, a full refund will be issued.
